The artist’s journey from literature to painting deeply informs the themes and tropes she gravitates toward. Like a book—with its plot, subplots, embedded narratives, and nested stories—her work is driven by a desire to visualise layered storytelling. Her paintings reflect this complexity: they teem with activity, often blurring the line between foreground and background. Elements weave in and out of each other, creating a tapestry where everything feels interconnected. Narratively, she is drawn to mythologies and the surreal textures of everyday existence—what she calls the “dream sequence” or the non-reality of our day-to-day lives. Within this space, she explores ideas of womanhood, the freedom to choose, and our relationship with the natural world.
She is also the founder of tl;dr, an interdisciplinary design studio.
